zz dry run 083220 How to plan your first ebook in one afternoon

Planning an ebook feels like a big job, but the plan itself fits into one afternoon. Here's the four-step plan I use.

1. Pick one reader. Write down who the ebook is for, and the one problem it solves for them.

2. List their questions. Write down every question that reader would ask about the problem, one per line.

3. Group them into chapters. Put the questions that belong together under one heading. Five to eight chapters is plenty for a first ebook.

4. Put the chapters in order. Start with what the reader needs first, and end with what they'll do next.

That's your outline. In the next post, I'll show you how to turn each chapter into a first draft.
